Aspen LiDA is the free companion app to Aspen Discovery, a full-featured discovery layer for library catalogs. Using Aspen LiDA, patrons can search the catalog, place holds, checkout eContent, create lists, manage their holds and checkouts, access a digital library card, as well as receive notifications and alerts from their library. We're constantly developing new features, enhancements, and bug fixes on a monthly development cycle.

While working at Salina Public Library, I led the transition from a Drupal site to a modern WordPress website. During this intensive process, we evaluated existing pages and the site architecture using a card sort study to ensure a better experience for patrons, all while updating the design and, additionally, working with a local graphic designer to develop new branding. We also worked to develop custom integration of outside vendors like the catalog and calendar as WordPress plugins.
I also developed an open-source digital signage system using Kirby CMS that can be found on GitHub.

While working at Salina Journal I completed a variety of print and digital design work, as well as custom web development.
Internally, I managed the design and layout of the Salina Journal website, which I won an award for. I also developed a custom community calendar and a task management tool for newsroom staff.
For advertising customers, I designed digital ads and maintained the campaigns in Google DFP, designed and scheduled email newsletters, designed and scheduled social media posts, as well as designed and developed custom websites.

Explore Salina was a community calendar created to solve the problem of having a single website for both Salina-area citizens and visitors to find out what events and activities are occurring at any given time. The calendar was a joint effort between the Salina Journal, Salina Arts & Humanities, and Salina Chamber of Commerce.

Svensk Hyllningsfest is a bi-annual festival of Swedish culture in Lindsborg, KS. For the 2017 festival the marketing committee came to Salina Journal for a new website and overall re-branding. With this project I developed the new branding identity, advertising materials, and a website for the festival.

Gutierrez was a family-owned Mexican restaurant in Salina, KS. In 2016, they reached out to Salina Journal as part of their marketing and advertising services, to develop a website to highlight their food and service. With this project I developed this one-page website using bright colors with fun patterns and featuring big, beautiful professional photographs of their food and restaurant.

For Accessible Home Health and Accessible Home Care, I designed print materials such as print advertisements, digital ads, event logos and flyers, brochures, and company newsletters, and I often worked with a local printing company by providing print-ready documents. I also maintained both company websites and social media accounts.
